Ellie, the Turkey Vulture (mascot of Conservation Halton), welcomes you to Mountsberg

The Mountsberg Wildlife Centre is an education and animal conservation site opearting under the authority of the Halton Area Conservation Region.  Its main specialty is the rehabilitation of raptors (birds of prey) who have been injured in one way or another.  The Mountsberg Wildlife Centre is located about 45 minutes west of Toronto, off of the Guelph Line and Campbellville.  All birds brought to the raptor centre are diagnosed for treatment.  Depending on the severity of their injuries, the birds of prey are either rehabilitated at Mountsberg, or are taken to the Wild Bird Clinic at the University of Guelph for x-rays, medicines, and further testing.  It is the Conservation's efforts to return these birds back into the wild, once they have successfully recovered from their injuries.

I've had the fortunate pleasure of volunteering at the Mountsberg Wildlife Centre and over the course of my duties, I've taken many pictures of the permanently-injured birds of prey, using my Nikon Coolpix 880 digital camera.  The pictures were originally photographed at a high resolution of 1024 x 768.  Due to efforts to conserve hard drive space (and improve loading time on web browsers), these pictures have been scaled back for your viewing pleasure.  Please enjoy these many pictures, and thank you for visiting The Eagle's Nest.
